Motivating Your Work Community

Simon Wallace | 19th August 2014

Motivating your work community to be better, achieve more and repeatedly outperform the competition is a significant challenge for all business leaders.

My experience is that the determined leader and leadership team can overcome this challenge and increase their organisation’s drive by giving attention to the following 5 elements:

1. Readiness

Make their organisation ready to be motivated by telling their community that they sincerely believe that each and every individual working for their organisation can be great.

2. Awareness

Make their organisation and every individual self-aware of their strengths and development needs by giving and receiving effective feedback.

3. Events

Plan regular training and development events that offer insight and the opportunity to practice new knowledge and skills learnt in a fun and lasting way.

4. Regulation

Encourage all individuals to take responsibility for their own development by producing personal development plans that are regularly reviewed.

5. Environment

Create an environment that rewards motivated behaviour and the improved results that follow.

These five elements worked together create a synergy that is very special, lasts and greatly helps motivating your work community.

Time to motivate everybody at work!
