Head of ESOL Curriculum at City of Glasgow College
Cathy Glover has been involved in ESOL teaching and training for many years and has experience in course design and development, particularly in the areas of contextualised English for professionals.
Prior to taking up her role of Head of ESOL1 at City of Glasgow College she worked for many years overseas with the British Council in Asia and Africa. She has much experience in professional training and has worked in consultation with Ministries of Education overseas to provide training and development for English teachers in Sri Lanka, Mauritius and also for the French government in their overseas schools.
She has experience working in industry as a language trainer and was responsible for English language training for TOTAL oil when based in France. More recently she has been involved in projects with refugees and asylum seekers developing and delivering courses for a range of levels from Literacies and Beginner to Pre-Intermediate.
Cathy has been involved in the design and development of English language assessments and has been an English examiner for IELTS, Edexcel and Cambridge English for more than 15 years.
Cathy has regularly presented at international conferences, such as IATEFL and TESOL Arabia, where she delivered workshops on developing vocational training courses for ESOL and contextualising ESOL programmes for professional learners.
