Avril Somerville is a highly experienced and engaging leadership development professional and coach with over 17 years of related experience across international markets.
Avril is an expert on subjects such as leadership engagement, creating team culture, and building high performance teams, and is known for her colourful and flexible style of delivery as well as an ability to create collaboration in even the most disparate of teams. Her approach breathes life into technical competencies and make them a more real and practical journey for delegates and their line managers.
Avril has worked as a specialist leadership development consultant designer and facilitator of highly successful programmes for clients all over the world in such diverse sectors as Recruitment , Media & Television, Finance, Retail , Education and Government. Most recently she was specifically hired to develop and deliver a ‘top down’ behavioural leadership training and coaching programme by the CEO of a small UK brand specialising in Oil & Gas recruitment which resulted in the development of over 100 middle, senior and director level managers & consultants located globally in more than 48 offices over 3 years whose teams produced over a billion dollars of revenue in 2013.
Avril has an MA in Drama and TV studies from Glasgow University, UK, Certificate in Training Practice (CIPD), NLP Practitioners Licence (INLPTA), British School of Coaching Accreditation, is a Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, APSCO member, British Actors Equity member. She is also a certified consultant for cutting edge Innermetrix and Myers Briggs diagnostic profiling tools, which she uses to support her leadership programmes as standard.
Avril is recognized for adopting a holistic, 360 approach to the leadership development models, by ensuring pre-course delegate and line management consultation is backed up with post course coaching and action planning in order to embed and evaluate the success of the learning outcomes.
